After meeting at the Freedom Monument at the appointed time, we'll enter the heart of the old town of Latvia's capital. Let's get our private tour of Riga started!
First, we'll take a stroll through the 13th century Town Hall Square. Here, we'll find the most emblematic building of the city: the Casa de los Cabezas Negras (House of the Black Heads). Who named this building, and who commissioned it be built? We'll reveal all these questions during our visit to this area.
Next, we'll continue our route, passing by St. Peter's Church, which has undergone several reconstructions throughout its history. Did you know that its tower is one of the best viewpoints in Riga? We'll also marvel at the Three Brothers, a set of buildings showcasing the typical architectural style of the Baltic countries.
From here, we’ll make our way to the Cathedral of St. James, an impressive example of Gothic red brick architecture, followed by a visit to the Swedish Gate — the only surviving entrance of Riga's original city wall, which once featured a total of eight gates.
